Replace

Replace the shoe when the miles run out, or sooner

The defaults here are 400 miles for a daily trainer, 300 for a tempo or interval shoe, 350 for a trail shoe, and 500 for a recovery shoe. Those are planning numbers, not a promise the foam is fine until then. A torn outsole, a crease through the midsole, or a new ache in that pair means retire it now.

If a daily shoe has 200 miles left and this week puts 18 miles on it, the date is 12 weeks out. A shoe that is already at the target is due today.

One date is free. $5 shows the date for every shoe in the rotation.

Shoes estimates retire dates by repeating the week you typed. It is not a wear inspection. Retire a shoe earlier for a torn outsole, a flat midsole, or a pain that showed up with that pair.
